Your account is deleted as soon as you confirm, and you are signed out.
Delete your account on the web#
- Sign in to the Finsplore web app.
- Go to Settings, then Data & privacy.
- Under Danger zone, select Delete your account.
- Tick the two boxes, confirm it's you, type DELETE, then select Delete my account.
Your account is deleted as soon as you confirm, and you are signed out.
If you can't sign in#
Email support@finsplore.io with the subject "Delete my account". If you can, send it from the email address on your Finsplore account.
Before we delete anything, we check that the request comes from the account owner. We may reply to the email address on the account and ask you to confirm. We will never ask for your password or bank login details.
We aim to respond within 30 days. Once we have confirmed the request is yours, we delete the account in the same way as the option in the app.
What we delete#
When your account is deleted, we remove the following from our live systems straight away:
- your profile and your sign-in, so the account can't be used again;
- your accounts, balances and transactions;
- your assets and liabilities, budgets, goals and goal contributions;
- your categories, and the category corrections you made;
- your notifications, notification settings, preferences and the devices registered for notifications;
- your profile photo.
We then email you to confirm that your account has been deleted.
What we keep, and for how long#
- A deletion record, for two years. It holds your email address, your account identifiers, when the account was deleted and the IP address the request came from. We keep it so we can show that we carried out your request and to stop a deleted account being used again. It is deleted automatically after two years.
- Our security audit log. Records of security actions on your account, with the IP address and device they came from, are kept for [to be confirmed].
- Backups. Copies of your information in our backups are overwritten as those backups expire. Backups are kept for [to be confirmed].
- Emails. If you asked us to delete your account by email, we keep that request and our reply for [to be confirmed].
How long it takes#
- In the app or on the web: straight away.
- By email: we aim to respond within 30 days of your request.
