Net worth tracker, available today
A net worth tracker for Australians.
Your net worth is everything you own minus everything you owe. Finsplore adds up the bank statements you import and the things you add yourself, like your home or your super, then takes away your loans and cards.
Finsplore is read-only, so it can show your money but never move it. It gives general information, not financial advice. Direct bank connections through open banking (the Consumer Data Right) are coming soon.
What is net worth?
Net worth is the value of what you own (your assets) minus what you owe (your liabilities). It can be above zero or below it.
How it changes over the months usually tells you more than the figure on any one day. Our guide to working out your net worth walks through an example.
How does Finsplore track your net worth?
Finsplore counts two things. If something you add matches an account you imported, it uses the account balance and tells you, so nothing is counted twice.
- Your accounts. Their balances come from the bank statements you import, as CSV, OFX, QFX, QIF, camt.053, MT940 or PDF files.
- Things you add yourself. Your bank does not know about your home, your car or your super, so you add each one with a name, a category and a value. You can add a liability too, such as a personal loan.
What does it show?
- What you own, what you owe and your net worth, the gap between the two.
- Your assets grouped by type, and how quickly you could turn them into cash.
- Investable: money you could put to work. You choose which assets count.
- A chart of how your net worth has changed. Earlier months come from your imported transactions, and you can save today's figures to see it month by month.
- Your figures in the currency you pick, if you hold money in more than one.
How does it stay up to date?
Account balances are as current as your latest statement. Import a newer one whenever you like, and Finsplore skips any transactions you already have.
Values you add yourself do not change on their own. Update them when they change, for example after a new super statement.
Is it read-only and private?
Yes. Finsplore is read-only. It cannot move money, make payments or change anything at your bank, and it never asks for your bank password. You pick which statement files to import, one at a time.
You can download a copy of your data, or delete your account and data, at any time.
Finsplore Connect, coming soon, will let an AI assistant you connect, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot or Claude, read your Finsplore data, including your net worth. You can disconnect it at any time.
Questions, answered plainly.
What is a net worth tracker?
An app that adds up what you own and what you owe, and shows the difference over time. Finsplore, an AI-native personal finance app for Australians, tracks your net worth from the statements you import and the things you add yourself, like your home or super.
Can I include my home and my super?
Yes. Add each one yourself with a name, a category and a value. Your bank does not know about them, so Finsplore does not update them on its own. Change the value when it changes.
Does Finsplore connect to my bank?
Not yet. Today your account balances come from the statements you import. Direct bank connections through open banking (the Consumer Data Right) are coming soon.
Can Finsplore move my money?
No. Finsplore is read-only. It cannot move money, make payments or change anything at your bank, and it never asks for your bank password.
Does my net worth update by itself?
Partly. Account balances change when you import a newer statement. Values you add yourself, like your home, stay the same until you change them.
Is this financial advice?
No. Finsplore gives general information about your own numbers. It does not recommend financial products. For advice about your situation, speak to a licensed financial adviser.
