FAQ
Questions, answered plainly.
Safety and bank connections first, because that's what people ask about most.
Safety and your data.
Is my data safe?
Finsplore is read-only: it can't move money. Data is encrypted in transit, you decide what goes in, and you can delete your account at any time. You can also download your profile, goals, budgets, the assets and liabilities you add, the categories you create and your notification settings. Imported accounts, balances and transactions are not in the export yet. We don't sell your personal information. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information under the Australian Privacy Principles.
How do I delete my data?
Delete your account from settings, or email hello@finsplore.io. We respond within 30 days, and some information may need to be kept where the law requires it.
Is Finsplore a bank or a financial adviser?
No. We're not a bank or a lender, we don't hold your money and we can't move it or make payments. Finsplore isn't a financial adviser, accountant or tax agent either. It gives you a clear view of your money and tools to plan ahead. For advice on your situation, speak with a licensed professional.
Bank connections and CDR.
Can Finsplore connect directly to my bank?
Not during early access. You bring your data in by importing statements you download from your bank, so you never share your banking login with us. Direct connections through Australia's Consumer Data Right are planned for a later release.
What is open banking (CDR)?
Australia's Consumer Data Right lets you share your bank data with accredited services and withdraw that consent at any time. Finsplore plans to support it in a later release.
How do I get my accounts into Finsplore?
During early access you import statements from your bank (CSV, OFX, QFX, QIF, camt.053 or MT940 files) or add things like your home or super yourself. Finsplore maps the columns and sorts the transactions for you. PDF statements aren't supported.
Early access.
When does early access start?
We're opening to a small group first and adding more people in waves. Join the list and we'll email you a personal invite when your place is ready.
How much does Finsplore cost?
Early access is free. We haven't announced pricing yet, and early-access members will hear about it first.
Where can I use Finsplore?
On the web, and on iPhone and Android through test builds during early access.
What if early access isn't for me?
Leave whenever you like. Reply to any email and we'll remove you, or delete your account and data from settings.
The product.
What is Finsplore?
Finsplore is a personal finance app for Australians. It brings your accounts, spending, net worth, goals and plans into one clear view, so you can understand your money and plan ahead.
Does Finsplore work with currencies other than Australian dollars?
Yes. You can keep accounts in other currencies and Finsplore shows your totals in Australian dollars.
What does FinChat do?
FinChat answers questions about your own accounts, spending and goals in plain English. It gives general information only. It won't recommend financial products or tell you what to do.
Are the projections and tax figures advice?
No. They're estimates based on the assumptions you enter, and they don't consider your full objectives, financial situation or needs.
Free while early access runs.
